Hi Clif,

I've put together a list of essential Firefox extensions for older and newer users. Having spent a considerable amount of time testing and reviewing over 200 extensions, these in my opinion have redeeming qualities and perform with the fewest conflicts. You can pick through and add the extensions that you feel are worthy of mention in your FFE list. Once people start using Firefox, they'll appreciate just how antiquated Internut Exploder really is.

4.) Bookmark Backup 0.3.3

Bookmark Backup is a simple extension that helps to keep your
bookmarks (and optionally other Firefox settings) safe. Each
time Firefox is closed, a copy of your bookmarks file will be made
to a backup location. If Firefox's bookmarks become corrupted or
lost, find the most recent uncorrupted backup and copy it into
your profile folder.

5.) BookmarksHome 1.4.3

BookmarksHome makes a pretty startup page out of your bookmarks.
The layout of this page is highly customizable. Items high in the
bookmarks tree (as you see it when you open the Bookmarks menu)
will appear at the top of the page. Changes in your bookmarks will be
visible after reloading the BookmarksHome page.

7.) Chrome Cleaner 0.3

Removes duplicate entries from installed-chrome.txt, and optionally
removes entries that reference non-existent jar files.

8.) Clear Cache Button 0.2

Adds a clear cache toolbar button. After installing the extension, find
the clear cache button in the toolbar customization panel.

9.) ColorZilla

With ColorZilla you can get a color reading from any point in your
browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program.
You can Zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between
any two points on the page. The built-in palette browser allows choosing
colors from pre-defined color sets and saving the most used colors in
custom palettes. DOM spying features allow getting various information

12.) Dict 0.6.6

The Dict project is a Mozilla extension that lets you easily look up the
definition of words on a Web page using an online dictionary. Simply
select a word, right-click, and you'll see a menu option to define the
selected word. The definitions are returned in a new window.

13.) Dictionary Search

Dictionary Search provides a very easy way to lookup (or translate)
a word in a Web page or an email in an online dictionary such as
thefreedictionary.com. Simply select the word you want to lookup.
Then right click and select "Dictionary Search for ...". A new tab or
browser window will open with the meaning of the word you selected.
It works for both for Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird.

Download Statusbar is a browser extension that allows you to keep
track of ongoing and completed downloads in a hide-away statusbar.

Features:
- Auto-hides when not in use
- Single-click pause and resume
- Pause all, Resume all, Cancel all, and Remove all finished - available
from the context menu of the bar itself
- Run a completed file with a double click on its finished box. Open
containing folder, remove, and rename from the context menu

14.) EasyGestures

EasyGestures is a free software made for the Mozilla Firefox browser.
It is a pie menu that pops up inside the browser when you click the mouse
and then let you perform various actions at the tip of the mouse pointer
with minimum mouse movement. The fast straight mouse gestures you
perform this way save you from reaching toolbars, menus and keyboard
and keep you from having to memorize any gestures. All behaviors and
actions are customizable. Great when in fullscreen.
